November 13: Exorcisms in Translation [Event]

We hope to see all our West Coast, Bay Area friends at The Lab this Wednesday for a truly awesome collaboration with Quiet Lightning. It’s going to be a little underground-SF-creative-writing-scene, a little crazy-ass-translations-of-a-wild-Cuban-author. That kind of a thing.

Here’s the deal. Doors open at 6:45, and you proceed to enjoy some $3 pints, courtesy of the Laugunitas Brewing Company. Then at 7:30, the entertainment begins. For the first 30 minutes, Quiet Lightning draws from its considerable, talented audience to entertain you with 8 pieces of short fiction. Then, we come on, delivering a bunch of local translators with the courage to tackle Guillermo Cabrera Infante’s pretty much impossible to translate Exorcismos de esti(l)o (you see, even the title is impossible).

That’s it, so come! Here, as they say, are the deets:

  • November 13
  • Doors 6:45, event 7:30
  • The Lab
  • 2948 16th St San Francisco, CA 94103
